How Much Does a Shrink Wrap Machine Cost in 2026?

A tabletop L-bar sealer starts around $800. A semi-automatic sealer paired with a shrink tunnel runs $6,000 to $18,000. Fully automatic systems start near $25,000 and pass $60,000 once you add a tunnel and infeed conveyor. Speed is the dividing line: manual sealers run 4 to 8 packages a minute, automatic sealers 15 to 25.

A Shrink System has Two Parts. The Sealer Wraps and Seals Film Around your Product. The Heat Source, a Heat Gun or a Shrink Tunnel, Tightens the Film. Budget for Both.

  • Tabletop L-bar sealer with heat gun, $800 to $4,500. The operator pulls the bar down to cut and seal. Fine for a few hundred packages a day. Larger manual sealers handle products up to about 39 x 39 inches.
  • Semi-automatic L-bar sealer, $5,000 to $10,000. A magnetic hold-down and control panel seal the film once the operator places the product. Runs 6 to 12 packages a minute.
  • Semi-automatic L-bar with shrink tunnel, $6,000 to $18,000. A conveyor carries each package from the sealer into the tunnel. A tunnel shrinks film far faster and more evenly than a heat gun. Stainless builds sit at the top of this range.
  • Automatic L-bar sealer, $25,000 to $40,000. Pre-programmed. The operator loads product and starts the run. 15 to 25 packages a minute.
  • Automatic sealer, tunnel, and conveyor, $40,000 to $65,000. A complete hands-off line. A heavy-duty automatic sealer alone lists near $40,000, a dual-chamber tunnel adds about $12,000, and an infeed conveyor about $9,000.

What Drives the Price

  • Seal area. The largest product you wrap sets the sealer size.
  • Tunnel length and chambers. A longer tunnel lets the line run faster.
  • Film type. Polyolefin, PVC, and polyethylene shrink film each need different heat settings. Polyethylene bundling usually calls for a heavier tunnel.
  • Power. Larger tunnels need 220V or three-phase service. Check this before you order.

Run the Total Cost Math

  1. Time how long one package takes today, from film to finished.
  2. Multiply by your daily count and your loaded hourly rate.
  3. Count the rewraps from torn film, loose wrap, or burned seals.
  4. Compare against the speed of the next tier up.

A heat gun station that wraps 6 packages a minute and a tunnel line that wraps 20 use the same film. The difference is labor hours.

Ask These Questions Before you Buy

  • What is the largest and smallest product I need to wrap?
  • Which shrink film fits my product, and what gauge?
  • Does my building have the power the tunnel needs?
  • How long does a changeover between product sizes take?
  • Who replaces wear parts like seal wire and Teflon tape?
